Faith and blessing in and through trials – Hannah in 1 Samuel 1-2

Hannah’s character, her prayer of praise, and devotion of Samuel to the Lord were the results and outgrowth of genuine faith persevering through trials (cf. Jam 1:2ff).

Humanly speaking, if Hannah had children like her “rival” Peninnah, she would most likely not have determined to dedicate a son to the Lord’s service. Her prayer of praise would not have been uttered which has blessed saints for millennia. Samuel’s ministry to Israel would not have been rendered.

Thank you Lord for the faith you gave Hannah in her trial, for answering her prayer, and for moving the biblical author to record this account.
