God’s Infinity and My Praying

During tomorrow night’s Bible study on prayer I’ll be walking through the doctrine of God and drawing some applications for prayer.

When I considered God’s attribute of infinity – that he is not limited by time or space – I was struck by the implications of this for prayer.

I pray to a God who is not nor ever can be limited or confined to anything in this universe; I never have to worry about taxing God’s ability to hear or something restricting him from hearing; when I pray I know that God’s entire being and attention are focused on me, as if I was the only human in existence, the only believer praying.

That’s some powerful stuff.

And to think that since God is infinite, there’s even more “powerful stuff” than that waiting for me to learn!

“My mouth shall tell of Your righteousness and of Your salvation all day long; for I do not know the sum of them” (Psalm 71:15).
