My oldest son Andy went to Marine Corp Recruiting Depot Parris Island back in January. Since then he’s learned a lot and it would be an understatement to say we’re proud of him. Next week he graduates on Friday and of course we will drive down for that!

But there’s one big thing left for him to do that begins early tomorrow morning: The Crucible.

The Crucible is a 54 hour field-training endurance-testing exercise. Andy will get little sleep, have only 2 1/2 MRE’s (meals ready to eat) the entire time, and will march over 48 miles.
