We have a number of young people at Orwell Bible Church that we are so thankful for. Some are anticipating adulthood and some entering. How can we pray for them? Here are some things we considered during our afternoon service yesterday:
“But flee from these things, you man of God, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance and gentleness,” 1 Tim 6:11
“Now flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart,” 2 Tim 2:22
“Epaphras, who is one of your number, a bondslave of Jesus Christ, sends you his greetings, always laboring earnestly for you in his prayers, that you may stand perfect and fully assured in all the will of God,” Col 4:12
- Personal walk with the Lord—God’s Word, prayer,
- Stronger relationship with Christ – rooted in knowledge of Christ, love for Christ
- Protection from worldliness and schemes of Satan
- Protection from temptation
- Denial of fleshly lusts
- Grow in humility, not pride
- Personal discipline
- Good friends (because they will become like their friends)
- Ministry to those they live closely with (roommates, others on campus)
- Patience with those they live closely with
- Involvement in local church
- Witness for Christ
- Honor authorities (teachers, administrators, etc)
- Good attitude at work
- Physical strength and protection
- Financial provision – work hard, trust the Lord
- Gain heavenly, not worldly wisdom
- Perseverance
- Balance in life
- Comfort and peace
Can you think of others?
Thank you for that, Pastor.
I can be praying these for myself, as well as for other young people in the Church.
