Good start to the day, read Psalm 79 and Galatians 4. Appreciated Paul’s comment in verse 19—“my children, with whom I am again in labor until Christ is formed in you,” noting the affection, action, and aim I should have as a pastor.

For family devotions we read Genesis 11, the account of the tower of Babel and introduction to Abram.

Finished notes for tonight’s Bible class, then printed and punched binder holes in them. Prepared the classroom. Checked mail (snail and electronic). I disciplined myself to not check my email until noon, and I must say I wasn’t distracted by a single thing on the internet. I may make that my new practice.

Helped Mike Kolin unload a 700+ pound board planer—seriously heavy. Worked on prayer meeting Bible lesson/challenge. Emails. Spent some time in prayer for tonight’s Bible class and our disciple-making efforts.

Taught our first Bible class of this fall at the Windsor Community Center; decent attendance, though a little lower than previous classes. I was very encouraged by one of our men who was able to easily spot some false teaching he heard on a “Christian” radio station as a result of last spring’s class. A great encouragement!

Printed out some notes for an upcoming OBF Visitor article; I’m way behind on the current issue, and have to get it done.
